Most of the cheaper non Apple laptops have this same issue.  I custom made 
a
a laptop via Toshiba and had them put a beefier video card in it to bypass
this.

I'm doing it, Macbook is a stellar XP and Vista laptop.  Only downside
is the integrated video (only an issue if trying to sync to video for
example), which is neatly resolved by getting a macbook pro instead :)
