augustus loop, abelton live & the FCB1010

I am new to all of the above programs (ableton live, augustus loop and FCB1010) I play the cello and want to record a loop, stop the loop and record another loop over the top of that (etc...) but also be able to effect each layer as I go... hopefully using the foot controller. Any ideas?
