AUDACITY is an audacious little program for Mac OS X, Windows and Linux.

It works great especially for live recording, is easy to use and best 
of all its

open source and FREE. Lots of free plug ins VST, AU etc. as well.

The stable versions have done a great job for me in many situations,

especially when using Protools seemed too much of a hassle.

The new Beta 1.3.3 for Mac is very impressive
