When I was touring with the wonderful altered tuning acoustic guitar 
wizard 
from Britain,
Martin Simpson,  he told of a time that he played an outdoor festival 
somewhere in England, I believe,
on a day that was really rainy.

There was one kind of older guy in the audience and Martin played his 
whole 
set for him alone
and then said,   "do you have any requests"

The old guy said,    "Yes,  would you please hurry up and finish so I can 
put all these chairs away"

He was the janitor of the venue.
