Thanks for the Kudos :-) 
All I did, when I got the unit was to check thoroughly what's in it. I 
guess I'm so eager to find out since this is my first real hardware looper 
:-) And there really is so much possible that you don't realize due to the 
somewhat cumbersome manual & settings.

Haven't found a solution to the "PATCH change - glitch problem", though. 
Again I haven't done the upgrade yet (I'm still reluctant since it is 
irreversible). This feature would be really very beneficial. I have a 
friend who uses this feature very effectively on live gigs with the 
RC-20XL.
