pickgaurd static

Sounds to me like some something attached to the pickgaurd is slightly 
shorted and making noise when the thing is touched. What shoes one wears 
when playing can affect wether or not one is grounded.Doesn't seem like 
esoteric ritual to me. I'm not sure but I think avoiding something just on 
the grounds that it's an esoteric ritual ,may itself be an esoteric ritual.
