Except, that in this case the guitar in question bears absolutely no
functional similarity with a Line6 Variax.  As mentioned earlier, this
is nothing but a USB audio interface crammed inside a dirt cheap strat
copy.  The Variax is very much more than that.

In principal, your argument is sound, but in this case, the details
don't line up.
