Zoom 2100 and 505 Re: Unidentified subject!

The 2100 is a great bang for the buck, and about the size and weight of a carton of cigs! I'm glad the music stores offered me an insultingly low price for mine, because I came to my senses and realized what a great little box it was/is, and kept it. I will stick with it just as I stick with my Zoom 505, which, like the 2100, does 3 or 4 things beautifully, and that's enough for me.
BTW, anyone know how to tame the hiss on a 505? It started suddenly after many trouble-free years of use. It is intermittent, and sometimes occurs even when the 505 is the only thing in the chain.Gating is not really an option for me, becuase "on again/off again" walls of hiss are even more irritating than steady-state hiss.
