sorry, don't remember if you mentioned the platform.

If you're on WinXP then 256Mb is bare minimum.
Win 98 will be happy with 128mb. (but still add more if you can)

Best to check what you have running in the background, for instance any 
memory management programs will cause problems.

Hopefully, if you're on mac, someone else here can help
