asynchronous loops?

Thanks for turning me on to loopers delight, Ted!

I'd like to buy the perfect looping device, and it looks like the
Gibson EDP makes sense for me with it's 198 seconds of memory time and
up to 9 loops and whatnot, but I'm still looking for an answer to this
question - and I'm a newbie (to looping without multitracking) so
please bear with it's silliness:
Once I have a loop (let's say 30 seconds), can I add new loops that
cycle independently (say 23.5s, and 41.2s) thereby creating an abstract
polyrhythm? Or will the 23.5s loop have to get 6.5s added to it to to
sync with the original 30s one?

I'm half expecting (and really hoping) that someone will tell me that I
can do either if I set up the program right.

Thanks,
Jeff Evans
