that auction is really fishy.

i wouldn't touch it with a ten foot mouse click.

i do not believe that hardware looping is an esoteric collectors' item. the
Repeater is only going for this obscene price because the company 
disappered
right when they were finally becoming a viable market force, creating a 
greater
demand for Repeaters than supply. there will be _something_ to fill the 
void.

as far as whether instruments should be valuable or not, keep in mind that 
back
in the day a good guitar and amplifier was worth _several_ months' rent ...
probably fewer months than the same equipment today.
