My guess would be dirty contacts in the switch. I don't know how hard those
things are to get apart, but my first line of attack would probably be to
disassemble until you can get to the switch, then shoot a bit of DeOxit 
into it.

Could also be something simple like a cold or broken solder joint from the 
switch
to the board, so check that while you're in there.
