You know, that's not a bad idea. A small sub-mixer could always come in 
handy 
in the future even if one decides to forgo the monitor switching 
(particularly if I win the lottery and buy myself some Genelecs).

I checked the Behringer's and there's also a smaller version 602A for 
$99.00. 
The 802A goes for around $139.00 locally in Pittsburgh. Thanks for your 
input.
