I took a test drive of the DL4 w/ expression pedal.
As far as I can tell, the zipper noise is virtually 
unavoidable. I think Line6 goofed on this product.
It's really not much of a loop machine, unlike the 
Headrush, for instance, which is better-suited IMO.

Too bad...
